M/V Sabre Spirit Line Bore Job STBD Main Engine - San Juan Puerto Rico
This is a photo of #11 bore of Unit # 3 aboard the Discoverer Seven Seas (DSS). The DSS was operating off the east coast of India by Transocean. The bearing spun in this bore. The finished photo is below.
This bore was welded by rig welder and bored by Doucet's Diesel Service, Inc. while the rig was drilling on location. This job was done for Transocean by Turner Diesel, Stewart & Stevenson, and Doucet's Diesel.
This repair was done aboard Parker Rig 73 while drilling in inland Nigeria. Serrations were repaired, along with cracks in Number 2 A Frame, Number 1 - 4 A Frames were welded and new caps installed, then line bored.
This line bore job was done aboard the drill rig Ensco 7500, off the coast of Alabama, drilling on station in 8,500 feet of water. The engine was a L20 710G7C rated 5,000HP @ 900RPM.
This repair was made aboard the M/V Paul Candies Port Main engine in Texas City, TX. Base rail, half of air box door, stress plate, and pan rail were changed. #16 lower liner insert bore was welded and rebored. Crankshaft line bore was rebored. #8 & #16 oil pan doors were also heated and repaired.
